The Good Quilt Fairy
We have a charity group that meets twice a month - on the first Friday and third Wednesday of each month (excluding January).
Currently we make quilts for several different groups -
Quilts of Love for the Royal Womens Hospital
Quilts and Humidicrib Covers for Premmie Babies at the Royal Womens
Quilts for Brain Injured Children, through the BICARE Association
Quilts for the girls of the Forget Me Not Orphanage in Nepal
Quilts for graduates of the Fresh Hope program in Toowoomba.
We have also donated quilts to other organisations who need support from time to time - Second Chance program for homeless women, a community group who were raising funds for a local lady who was parpalysed in an accident.
We make at least 70 quilts per year, ranging in size from the little Quilts of Love (around 35cm - 50cm square), lap size quilts for the children (around 1.20m square), single bed and queen bed size quilts for the graduates of Fresh Hope.
On the following pages are pictures of some of the quilts that we have made.
We rely on donations of fabric, blocks, tops, backing, batting - whatever you have available. Also we receive some cash donations to help us purchase batting and to have large quilts professionally quilted.
If you would like to be involved in some way, please contact the shop during business hours either by phone - (07)3875-1700 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org - to obtain more details.
There is always a need for help - whether it be to cut, iron, sew or make tea/coffee - new faces are always welcome! We always have plenty to do.
